Serving Ministries

Visitation/Home Communion Lay Ministers

Zion has a group of lay congregational ministers who bring Communion each month to our homebound members and nursing home residents, giving them a vital connection to the congregation and reminders of God’s presence.

Table of Plenty

Table of Plenty is a free community meal served at Zion from 5:30-7:00 p.m. on the fourth Monday of every month. Guests are welcomed, seated, and served by community volunteers who have provided the meal for the evening. The goal of this meal is to provide a welcoming atmosphere where all who hunger for food or fellowship can gather and be nourished. All are welcome at this no-cost meal.

Please contact the Zion church office at (605) 225-6755 for details if your family, organization, business, church, or school is interested in sponsoring a meal or providing volunteers to serve the meal.

Frozen Meal Ministry

Do you know someone who is recovering from surgery, just had a baby, or is unable to prepare a meal for themselves for other reasons? Zion’s frozen meal ministry provides hand-prepared frozen meals for you to take to anyone who could benefit from them. If you would like to contribute to this program, watch the church announcements for news of upcoming meal prep days. We usually gather every other month for a couple of hours to prepare new meals.  We also provide opportunities to donate ingredients for the meals.
