At Zion, we are incredibly blessed by God’s grace and mercy in our lives. Our caring ministries offer compassionate support, spiritual encouragement, and fellowship to our members and the broader Aberdeen community, extending God’s love beyond the church walls through acts of service, advocacy, and hope.

Advocacy
Our advocacy work is made possible through designated advocacy funds, supported by the generosity of individuals who believe in faith-based public witness. These gifts allow us to respond faithfully to our neighbors when needs arise, such as utility assistance (electric, rent, water, etc.) or emergency situations. If you are in need of support, please contact the church office at 225-6755.

Corner of Caring
Through the generosity of our Zion members and neighbors in the Aberdeen community, we have essential items available for those in need, including hats and gloves, diapers, blankets, socks, and toiletry items. If you or someone you know could benefit from this assistance, please contact the church office at 225-6755.

Food Assistance
In addition to our monthly Table of Plenty meal, we offer food assistance through frozen meals, cooking ingredients, and bagged meals. If you are in need of a meal for yourself, your family, or someone else, please contact the church office at 225-6755 to arrange a pickup.

Service Trip
Each year, members of our congregation participate in a week-long service trip to support the needs of another community. We are currently planning a trip for June 2026—click the picture above to learn more and get involved.

Table of Plenty
Table of Plenty is a free community meal served at Zion from 5:30–7:00 PM on the fourth Monday of every month. Guests are warmly welcomed, seated, and served by community volunteers who prepare the meal for the evening. The goal of Table of Plenty is to create a hospitable space where all who hunger for food or fellowship can gather and be nourished—everyone is welcome at this no-cost meal. For more information on this ministiry, please click on the picture.

Faith Through Fitness
On Sunday mornings, meet from 5:30–6:30 AM at Massenomics (209 Railroad Ave SE) in the basement gym for fellowship centered around resistance training. There is no cost to participate during this time, no experience is required, and there are no age restrictions—Zach Anderson will help you find a workout routine that works for you if requested. If you have any questions, please reach out to Zach , who would be happy to visit with you.

Men's Fellowship
On the last Wednesday of the month at 8:00 PM, men are invited to gather at the Circus for an opportunity for fellowship. This gathering is intentionally informal and provides a relaxed setting to get to know one another. Feel free to invite a friend—we look forward to seeing you there!

Men in Mission
Through fellowship and shared activities, all men of Zion are invited to join in serving the congregation in a variety of ways, including hosting pancake breakfasts on the first Sunday of each month. For more information on how to get involved, please contact the church office.

Sunday Morning Fellowship
After Sunday worship, join us in our fellowship hall for coffee and treats—a relaxed time to connect, catch up, and enjoy each other’s company. All are welcome to stop by and share in the conversation.

Thursdays Together
In 2026, the church will be open Thursday evenings from 6:30–8:00 PM for fellowship centered around board games. These gatherings are designed to give people a chance to share their interests with others in the congregation and to welcome friends from the wider community to join in the fun! Every third Thursday is a movie club, where a featured film is promoted for viewing beforehand. Starting in February, line dancing lessons will be offered every Thursday from 7:15-8:00 PM and is open to all ages! If you have an idea for a fellowship opportunity that you would be willing to host, please call the church office at 225-6755.

Zion Lutheran Church Women
Through fellowship and shared activities, all women of Zion are invited to serve the congregation in a variety of ways, including quilting on Mondays and Thursdays from 1:00–3:00 PM or cardmaking on Wednesdays from 1:00–3:00 PM. The Women’s Group also supports Zion’s ministries and raises funds for various church needs and community organizations. For more information on how to get involved, please contact the church office.
