For you were called to freedom, brothers and sisters; only do not use your freedom as an opportunity to indulge your flesh, but through love serve one another. (Galatians 5:13)
The global spread of the COVID-19 virus has created both new challenges and new opportunities for caring for one another during this unprecedented time. First and foremost, at Zion we are loving our neighbors and serving one another by suspending our on-site worship and activities. But there are other ways to care and serve. Check back here for more ways to care and serve.
Our quilters are using their sewing skills to sew cloth masks for local health care workers and anyone else who may be in need of a mask. If you would like to help make masks, you can download a pattern and instructions here:
Please contact the church at 225-6755 if you have masks to donate or need a mask for yourself.
Phone Buddies (Member-to-Member Outreach)
We’re recruiting caring volunteers to check in weekly with some of our congregation members who are not connected to our online opportunities for worship and fellowship. These calls can include checking in to find out any needs the person has that Zion can help with, providing a listening ear and uplifting conversation, asking for prayer requests, and praying the Lord’s Prayer together. You’re also welcome to use the Taking Faith Home sheets mailed out in your April newsletter for further devotional time: Bible passages, prayers, and caring conversation questions.
If you are willing to be a Phone Buddy, please contact Pastor Erin at 252-0320 (call or text) or by email at email@example.com to be matched with one or two (or more!) Zion members for these caring calls. She will also provide you with a script/outline for your calls.
